According to James Corby of Oracle Digital, an Australian SEO company, retailers will see improved sales and increase their consumer base if they develop an online presence. Retailers will not only find the more convenient purchasing option attracts more customers, but marketing for an online brand can be affordable and offer excellent return on investment.

For example, retailers with an online store can use Google to increase their visibility to consumers. However, ecommerce sites must be created in a way that makes search engines such as Google more likely to list the site high in search results, Corby advised.

"To get great rankings on Google, then you have to give it content that is actually valuable to humans," Corby said. "Google does not want to see material spread out across the web or on a website just to appease it."

Not only can ecommerce sites benefit from the type of marketing Corby advocates, they allow Australian retailers to take advantage of the strong dollar by offering imported products at great prices. Because the Australian dollar is currently stronger than the Euro, many wine sellers are offering European wines to Australian consumers at low prices, Bloomberg reported. The increased options may encourage more consumer spending within the country.
