3D Secure 2.0 provides an additional layer of identity verification to your checkout. By combining data from the merchant, issuing bank, and card scheme, this security protocol can prevent unauthorised use of credit cards in online purchases. The other added benefit is that your business can shift the financial liability of a fraudulent chargeback. So if a customer advises their bank that they didn’t make a purchase, you won’t be out of pocket if the transaction was validated via 3D Secure 2.0.
